🌸About Us🌸

Sarah - @petite_titan

Hi hi, Sarah here! I’ve been a fan of anime, cosplay and alternative styles for as long as I can remember. I love making costumes, the more poofy the skirt or gravity defying the elements, the more I want to do it. When I’m not at a sewing machine, crafting away, I’m reading, writing or playing video games in the coziest environment I can make. My all time favorites are the Witcher and Bioshock franchises!

One of the things that has made my heart soar over the past few years is the wider availability of anime related merchandise and alt fashion. I remember when even finding a Naruto t-shirt was near impossible to do without making your own, so to be able to be a part of helping people get their dream items and share the love of anime/Jfashion is a goal I once thought impossible.

I went to visit Ren in Japan and found access to brands, that I had only ever seen photos of, a dream come true! The small Listen Flavor shop in Harajuku was my home from home and the amount of merchandise of my favorite, more obscure, side characters was only a short  train ride away! I wanted to be able to bring this ease of access, to the things I could only dream of back home, to Ireland. So on a train to Shinjuku the idea began and we’ve only been stepping closer to that goal ever since.

Ren - @kirenshi

Hey everyone! I’m Ren, a lifelong lover of anime, pretty much by accident, have been cosplaying and attending cons since 2008, and have been a Jfashion fanatic for well over 10 years now! I have a lot of hobbies from reading to video games, I particularly love JRPGs, like Nier Automata and Genshin Impact, as well as TTRPGS, board games and winter sports like figure skating and skiing/snowboarding. Travelling, exploring new places and meeting new people, is definitely something extremely important to me. There’s so many things I want to try and do in this life, the only problem is finding time to do everything!

I’ve holidayed in Japan a couple times and lived there for a year, from 2018-2019, and would love to go back to live and work from there one day, but we’ll see what happens if I can ever make that dream come true haha. While I was in Japan, I loved the ease of access to anime merch and all the Jfashion clothes you can imagine and then some. It’s been my dream since then for us to have that same ease of access here, on the island of Ireland, and to provide to the UK and greater Europe while we’re at it.

Tokyo Mode

Thus, Tokyo Mode was born! This is not just a business, but a genuine passion project. We want access to these things just as much as you all do, we want these things to be affordable just as much as you all do, we want genuine articles and official brands, not bootlegs, just as much as you all do. “At Tokyo Mode we aim to bring a slice of Japanese culture to Ireland, the UK and greater Europe. We supply official anime merchandise, such as badges and keychains, itabags and a wide variety of authentic Japanese fashion and accessories!”, you’ve seen this on our website and all of our social media pages, this is our promise to you.

We also have a commitment to the environment and are as sustainable as possible (for a small start up run by two pals from a bedroom...) Our products come in as few shipments as possible to us and we do the same when shipping your purchases to you. The packaging we use is not only made from recycled materials but is also recyclable, from our shopping bags to our padded envelopes, even our stickers and business cards use environmentally friendly adhesive and soy ink!
